With fans unable to travel, and people either indifferent to, or openly questioning the games, we needed to build anticipation and support for an Olympics already delayed and disrupted by a global pandemic.
From billboards across New Zealand, to big banners at the Olympic Village in Tokyo, our campaign drew on our legacy of punching well above our weight on the international stage. Beginning with a 100-year anniversary commemoration of those gone before, then focusing on the opportunity for this generation to write their own story, we showcased the collective mana and strength of the NZ team and celebrated the odds they defy to “Earn the Fern”.
